Sheliah Dotson Church

Abingdon, Va. 

Sheliah Dotson Church, 60, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 3, 2018, in Russell County Medical Center.  Sheliah was born and raised in Hurley, Va. to the late James E. and Gartha Perry Dotson before relocating to Abingdon in 1979.  She was a graduate of Hurley High School and worked as a hairdresser for many years.  Sheliah was a member of Little Freedom Old Regular Baptist Church.  I

n addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Garland and Donald Ray Dotson; and two sisters, Peggy Ganoe and Barbara Lynn Payne. Sheliah is survived by her husband, Jackie Church; sister, Mary Lou Stacy and husband Ronnie of Grundy, Va.; three brothers, Terry Dotson, Eddie Dotson, and John Kevin Dotson and wife Connie, all of Hurley, Va.; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Visitation with the family will be held 5-7 p.m. Friday, July 6, 2018, in the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon, VA.  Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday with Elders Billie Campbell and Jerry Matney officiating.  Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
