Sherri Ann Lawson

It is with great sadness that the family of Sherri Ann Lawson, age 64, announces her peaceful passing on November 21, 2024 in Bristol, VA after a brief illness.

She was a 1978 graduate of Richlands High School where she was a varsity cheerleader for 3 years. Sherri was full of life enjoying trips to the beach, being an avid fan of University of Kentucky sports, and enjoying her favorite food group - lots of chocolate. Having  been disabled since the age of 19, her love of life and her love of the Lord were never diminished.

Sherri was a member of First Christian Church in Abingdon, VA. Sherri was born on March 14, 1960, in Bluefield, WV to Frank A. Lawson and Juanita P. Lawson. 

Preceding her in death was her father Frank Lawson. Let to cherish her memory are, mother Juanita Lawson; brother, Michael Lawson and wife, Brenda; sister, Denise Martin and husband, Jim. She is also survived by several nieces and nephew and great nieces and nephew.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the wonderful and caring staff at NHC-Bristol with a special shoutout to nurses: Lakin, Ashley, Logan, Jeremy, Jun, Bobbie, Robbie and Bailey. We would also like to express our appreciation to the Caris nurses: Amanda, Brandy, Tommy Joe, and Lynn. Sherri was especially blessed to have a special friend, Connie Willis who helped her navigate life and have lots of fun doing things that Sherri loved.

The family will receive friends on Friday, November 29, 2024 from 12:00 noon until 1:00 pm at First Christian Church in Abingdon, VA. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm with Pastor Tom Crise officiating. A private committal service will be held at a later date.
