Sherry Lynn Waugh

Meadowview, VA – Sherry Lynn Waugh, 60, died peacefully at 11:00 a.m., Sunday, January 21, 2018, at Grace Health Care of Abingdon, VA. She was born April 27, 1957, in Prestonburg, KY to the late Hershel William and Alice Ruth Waugh. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Ronald Lee Waugh, and sisters, Deborah Lynn Branham and Constance Lynn Federow.
Sherry was a longtime resident of Meadowview, VA where she lived since the spring of 1996. Sherry graduated from Lebanon High School in 1977 and attended SVCC in Cedar Bluff where she majored in Business Management. Sherry’s favorite sport growing up in Lebanon, VA was basketball and she was MVP of the girls’ Basketball Team for two of the three years while playing the game. The team went undefeated during their first year and also became Divisional District Champs.
Sherry’s paradise was relaxing out on her back porch where she enjoyed seeing and talking about God’s amazing creations. Sherry was a member of Washington Springs United Methodist Church of Glade Spring, VA.
Surviving are two brothers, (twin) Jerry Lee Waugh of Abingdon, VA, and (oldest brother) Roger Lee Waugh of Lebanon, VA; eight nephews, Donald Kevin Waugh, Brian Christopher Waugh, Anthony William Waugh, Jason Ray, Jordan Hamilton Aires, Justin Michael Branham, Joshua Carson Branham, and Corey Mark Allen Federow; two nieces, Crystal Dawn Allison, Linda Jean Branham, and step niece Jessie Skeens; and several cousins, great nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family will be held 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 24, 2018, in the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon, VA 24210. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Larry Lusk officiating. At Sherry’s request, casual dress is preferred.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Washington Springs United Methodist Church, 36215 Washington Springs Road, Glade Spring, VA 24340, in Sherry’s name.
