Shirley A. Copley, 67, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 29, 2010 in Abingdon, Virginia.
Shirley was born in Augusta, GA on January 23, 1943 to the late J. A. Brown and Carol McDade Brown. She and her husband, L.T., have lived in Abingdon since 1968. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church where she served as missionary secretary for many years. Shirley worked at Harwood Manufacturing for over 10 years and sold Tupperware for many years. She loved her family very much and will be missed by everyone that knew her.
Survivors include her husband, Lawrence (L.T.) Copley, Jr.; three sons: Lawrence Copley, III, of Bristol, VA; Keith Copley and wife Anita of Abingdon; and Jonathan Copley and wife Bonnie of Abingdon; one daughter, Cherie Cisco and husband Jason of Abingdon; one brother, Jerry Brown and wife Sophia of Idaho; two sisters, Eileen Fox and husband Neil of Dallas, TX; and Faye King and husband Bill of Augusta GA; seven grandchildren: Zach Copley, Megan Copley, Chasity Faust, Sommer Copley, Austin Copley, Wyatt Copley and Garrett Copley; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service for Shirley Copley will be held at 8:00 pm, Wednesday, December 1, 2010, at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Pastor Bryan Treadway officiating.
The family will receive friends at the church from 6:00 until 7:45 P.M. Wednesday.
A committal service will be held on Thursday, December 2, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at Forest Hills Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Those wishing to attend the committal service are asked to assemble at the cemetery by 10:50 a.m.
