Shirley Hancock Wagner, age 91, passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2023, at Deer Meadows in Abingdon, VA. She was born in Glade Spring, Virginia to the late Blair Thompson Hancock and Hazel Margaret Cassell Hancock on November 3, 1931. Shirley worked as a security officer at Emory-Henry College for over 30 years, her passion in life was caring for her cats.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Hale, and Helen Smith.
Survivors include her sister, Nancy Childress; three nephews, Jeffery Childress, David Hale and wife Debbie and Chris Hail and wife Mary Jess and two nieces, Karen Smith, and Debbie Smith.
