Mrs. Stella H. Price, age 89, passed away Friday, December 23, 2011, at Wellmont Bristol Regional Medical Center . She was a graduate of Johnston Memorial Hospital School of Nursing and worked for forty years as a registered nurse. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church , and she enjoyed quilting and reading.
Mrs. Price was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest J. Price; daughter Barbara Brown; brother Lewis Harris; sister Ruby Vestal; granddaughter Kathryn Hibbits; and step-daughter Joyce Akers.
She is survived by one son, John W. Price of Abingdon; one daughter, Beula Boothe of Kingsport, TN; one brother, C. W. Harris of Abingdon; three sisters: Lorena Bolling, Margaret Ann Harris, and Mary Whitley, all of Abingdon; five grandchildren: Kevin Price, Kim Sweet, Karie Fields, Amanda Schrock, and Kristi Brown; six great-grandchildren; two step-daughters: Janet McVey of Jacksonville, FL, and Carol Crane of Bristol, VA; and two special friends, Dorothy Lambert and Carol Lockhart.
The funeral service for Stella Price will be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday, December 26, 2011, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Rev. John W. Price and Brother Charles Baker officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 5:30 p.m. until the time of the service. Pallbearers will be the Deacons of Temple Baptist Church, and honorary pallbearers will be Bob Whitley and Bobby Bolling. The committal service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2011, at Knollkreg Memorial Park .
