Dateline: Abingdon, Va.-
Stella Janney Camp, age 95, went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 23, 2015, at Johnston Memorial Hospital. She was born to the late George Lee Janney and Martha Elizabeth Porter Janney in Mohegan, W.Va. She was a devoted housewife and knew the Lord as her Savior.
In addition to her parents, Stella was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, James Franklin Donley Camp; infant daughter, Gloria Jean Camp; eight siblings, Ollie E. Janney, Walter Janney, Pearly Janney, Roy Janney, John Janney, Mabel Janney Freitag, George Lee Janney, and Charles Rollans Janney; daughter-in-law, Helen Phelps Camp; and a great grandson, David Wayne Hale III.
She is survived by three children, James David Camp of Princeton, W.Va.; Helen Elizabeth Camp Cox and husband Douglas Cox of Whitesville, W. Va.; and Gladys Gay Camp Hale and husband David Wayne Hale Sr. of Abingdon, Va.; three siblings, Gladys Souza of Calif., Paul Janney of Fredericksburg, Va., and Helen White of W.Va.; eight grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and four great great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 27, 2015, at Roselawn Cemetery, 450 Courthouse Road, Princeton, W.Va. 24740, with Pastor Steve Peters officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be John Cox, Matthew Peters, Steve Peters, David Wayne Hale Jr., Matthew Hale, and Michael Hale.
