Tamara Diane Wilson, age 57, of Glade Spring, Va., gained her angel wings on Wednesday, October 24, 2018, at Johnston Memorial Hospital. She was born April 7, 1961, to Charles William Wilson and Diane Naomi Brown Wilson. Tamara was a retired employee of Frontier Industries and formerly attended Glade Spring Baptist Church. In addition to her father, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Wanda Hawkins.
In addition to her mother, Tamara is survived by three siblings, Ruth Walter and husband, Joseph, of Bristol, Va.; Rocky Wilson and wife, JoAnn, of Glade Spring, Va.; and Charlene Bobbitt and husband, Douglas, of the home; two nieces and six nephews; a great-niece and three great-nephews; and special caregivers, Sheri Johnson and Christie Beeson.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 26, 2018, at 7:00 p.m. at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Rev. Robert Blankenship officiating. Family and friends are asked to convene on Saturday, October 27, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at Mount Rose Cemetery for the committal service. Visitation will be held on Friday prior to the service from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Attendees are encouraged to wear Halloween shirts or fall colors in honor of Tammy’s favorite holiday.
