Teresa Marie Neisler Haywood, 58, of Abingdon, Va., went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at her home. She was born in Killeen, Texas to the late Billie Samuel Neisler and Helen Louise Bunker Neisler. Teresa served alongside her husband, Bill, at the Abingdon Church of Christ for 23 years where she taught Sunday school and served in various other capacities. She will be remembered as a devoted homemaker, devout Christian lady, and a native Texan.
In addition to her parents, Teresa was also preceded in death by her brother, Curtis Steven Neisler; and mother-in-law, Lillian Irene Haywood. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Bill Haywood; two sons, Timothy James Haywood and wife Amanda, of Johnson City, Tenn. and Steven Thomas Haywood and wife Lynzie, of Hudson, Ohio; three siblings: Ruby Stewart and husband, Chris, of Three Rivers, Texas; Patti White and husband, James, of Llano, Texas; and Jo Ann Webb and husband, Matthew, of California; six grandchildren, Evelyn Joy Haywood, Norris William Haywood, Cora Lynn Haywood, Aida June Haywood, Samuel Abner Haywood, and Tiller Thomas Haywood; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; her brothers and sisters in Christ; and canine companion, Paddy.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 27, 2019, at 7:00 p.m. at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Phil Blevins, Tim Hall, Keith Hovis, and Blake Logan officiating. Visitation will be on Monday prior to the service from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
