Thelma Lakie Widener Alexander, age 72, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at Wellmont Hospice House in Bristol, TN. She was the wife of the late Caney Dewey Alexander. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who will be greatly missed.
She was born to the late Elliott Widener and Myrtle Thomas Widener. She is also preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.
She is survived by three sons, Kenneth Alexander and wife Shirley of Glade Spring, VA, Johnny Alexander and wife Melinda of Kingston, TN, and Donnie Alexander and wife Lisa of Bristol, VA; daughter, Tammy Blevins and fianc�©e Randy Boothe of Bristol, VA; five sisters, Lucille Thompson, Lenise Stout, Doris Trent, Hazel Holmes, and Edna Owens; five grandchildren, Isaac Alexander, Matthew Alexander, Michael and Ashley Blevins, James Alexander, and Susie Ray; and five great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 14, 2012 at Rush Creek Cemetery with Minister Bill Haywood officiating. Those wishing to attend are asked to convene at the cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Alexander, Johnny Alexander, Donnie Alexander, Michael Blevins, James Alexander, and Thomas Hash.
