Bristol, VA – Thomas Franklin Jackson, Sr., age 65, passed on Wednesday, September 9, 2015, at his home. Mr. Jackson loved to fish and hunt and was an employee of American Longwall for over 30 years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Jackson, Sr. and Avis Singleton Jackson, and brother, David Jackson. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Joanne Hamilton Jackson; sons, Thomas Franklin Jackson, Jr. of Bristol, VA, Samuel Cherokee Jackson of Glade Spring, VA, Henry Shaver, Sr. of Abingdon, VA; and Christopher Wayne (Tesa) Jackson of La Grand, OR; daughters, Valarie Hayden, Angela Poore, Arlena (Josh) Helbert, and Rebecca Sullivan, all of Bristol, VA; brothers, Freddie Jackson of Abingdon, VA, Sammy Jackson of Bristol, TN, Randy Jackson of Bristol, TN, Joe Jackson of Bluff City, TN, and Eddie Jackson of Bristol, TN; sisters, Connie Boothe of North Port, FL, Pam Payne of Bristol, VA, Jan Huber of Bristol, VA, and Deena Henley of Bristol, VA; numerous grandchildren, friends, and nieces and nephews. Visitation with the family will be held 6-8 p.m. Saturday, September 12, 2015, at the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon, VA. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, in Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Greg Hickman officiating. Pallbearers will be coworkers and friends.
