Bristol, VA- Thomas Vance “Tommy” Nunley, age 49, passed away on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at Bristol Regional Medical Center. He was a graduate of Abingdon High School and was employed at the Bristol Workshop. He was a resident of the Sunhouse in Bristol, VA. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Frances Nunley; paternal grandparents, Willie Vance Nunley and Alice Otey Nunley; four aunts; two uncles; and three cousins. He is survived by two uncles, Freddie Ross Nunley and wife Katherine and Bobby Nunley all of Abingdon, VA; several cousins, who loved him like a brother; and his many friends, who he considered family, at the Sunhouse. Visitation will be from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 31, 2014 at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. A funeral ceremony will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Reverend Jerry A. Eggers officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View Methodist Cemetery off Rt. 75. Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to defer the cost of final expenses.
