Timothy Arthur Hunter

Abingdon, VA – Timothy Arthur Hunter, age 73, passed on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at his home.  Mr. Hunter served in the U.S. Army for 16 years and was a veteran of the Vietnam War, a native of Maine, he served as the store manager for several Service Merchandise stores before moving to Virginia.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Doris Joy Hunter, and brother, Tom Hunter. 

He is survived by four children, Alysia (James) Gantnier, Jeremy Hunter, Cindy Hunter, and Jack (Nicole) Thompson; four siblings, Terry (Elaine) Hunter, Kim Boyett, Mark Hunter, and Tab Hunter; nine grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. 

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 7, 2021, in Mt. Home National Veterans Cemetery with the Boone Dam V.F.W. Post and the Virginia National Guard providing military rites.
