Abingdon, VA - Elder Timothy Michael Starkey, 33, formerly of Beckley, died Wednesday, August 1, 2018. Born August 9, 1984, in Beckley, W.Va., he was the son of Kenneth Starkey, Sr. of Beckley and the late Elder Wilma Schofield Starkey. A 2002 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, Beckley, he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Bluefield State College in 2007. He was the Pastor of Greater King’s Chapel, Abingdon, Va., a member of Pentecostal Assemblies of the World and worked as a Middle School Teacher.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Mrs. Douglas Holland and Dr. Tanner Schofield-Cole.
In addition to his father, left to cherish precious memories are his brothers: Kenneth (Connie) Starkey, Jr.; William Starkey; and Garrett (Tami) Starkey, Sr.; nephews, Aaron, Kenneth III, Kevin, Garrett, and Alvester; nieces, Kymara, Karmeytta, LeVoria, and Earon; seven great-nieces; four great-nephews; six aunts; four uncles; special friends, Godson, Travarius Chestnut of Abingdon and Tonya Copney of Beckley, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. Monday, August 13, 2018, at Greater Mt. Zion Pentecostal Church, 104 Park Street, Bluefield, WV, with Bishop Samuel Moore officiating. Burial in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
