Timothy Vierthaler

Ladson, SC Timothy Allen Vierthaler, age 56, passed away on Tuesday June 30, 2015 in the Trident Medical Center in North Charleston, SC. Tim was a native of Kansas but had lived in the Charleston, SC area for the past 12 years. He received his graduate and undergraduate degrees from Emporia State University in Emporia, KS. He was outgoing, witty, respectful and always tried to find good in everyone. These are traits that served him well in his profession as a juvenile caregiver in the Department of Social Services. Tim was an athlete in his younger years and he became an overall sports fan and collector of sports memorabilia as he got older. Tim loved camping and fishing. He also loved his church and was a member of the Divine Redeemer Catholic Church in Hanahan, SC. Tim is survived by his wife Patti Brtan Vierthaler; his parents Dennis and Jeannette Vierthaler of Hutchinson, KS; brother Dan and his children Stacie and Kristen of Newton, KS; sister Sheila Strecker (Paul) and children Leigh Anne and Brandon of Overland Park, KS; mother-in-law Lydia Brtan of Ladson, SC; brother-in-law Brian Brtan of San Antonio, TX; several aunts and uncles also survive. A funeral service will held at 11:00 AM Wednesday July 8, 2015 in the Farris Funeral Chapel with Fr. Francis Musolooza officiating. Burial will follow in Knollkreg Memorial Park. The family will greet friends from 10:30 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home.
