Tineke Labrie Marburg

Mendota, VA - Tineke Labrie Marburg passed away on October 26, 2022, surrounded by her loved ones. Tineke was born in the Netherlands on April 28, 1950 to her parents Trijnie Koning and Dirk Labrie.  

She met her husband Bill Marburg (aka Bill Clifton) in 1976 while he was performing music in the Netherlands. Bill immediately fell in love with his beautiful Dutch girl and she with him. In 1978 they married, and he brought Tineke and her two young daughters back to their mountain home in Mendota, Virginia. It was there that their daughter Laurel was born. Tineke has always been the love of Bill's life and in her last days he never left her side.

Tineke was a creative and outspoken woman. She was always thinking up fun ideas and had the capability of creating something out of nothing. She was also fabulous cook, making the most magnificent meals for all who sat at her table. She lived a full and turbulent life.

Tineke was proceded by her parents and her granddaughter Jaiden Lilly, with whom, no doubt, she is playing with right now.  She is survived by her husband, Bill Marburg; daughters, Stella, Flory and Laurel; her grandchildren, Justin, Jem-Dean, Indigo Moon, Myrddin, Helena, Julien and Janneke.

There will be a memorial held for Tineke at the Mendota House on November 26, 2022 from 1 -5 pm.
