Tommy Kathryn “Kat” Shultz, age 75, of Abingdon, Va., entered the heavenly gates on Thursday, April 25, 2019, at Johnston Memorial Hospital. She was born October 11, 1943, to the late George Murray and Aline Bradley Murray.
In addition to her parents, Kat was also preceded in death by her soulmate of 27 years, Johnny Harvey Franklin Delp; and three brothers, Jeff, Sam, and Doodle Murray.
She is survived by a special daughter, Tammie Felts and husband David, of Amelia Courthouse, Va.; granddaughter, Taylor Roach and husband Brian, of Amelia Courthouse, Va.; great-granddaughter, Braelynn Harvie Roach; daughter, Angie; son, Cliff; two brothers, Lester Murray of Bristol, Tenn. and Bobby Murray and wife, Melinda, of Bluff City, Tenn.; extended family, Barb, Shirley, Sujette, Jo, Mr. Nipper and her friends at the Senior Center; as well as her loyal and faithful companions, Shorty and Rudy.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, April 28, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Pastor Bob Neace officiating. A committal service will be held at Mountain View Baptist Cemetery where Nathan Delp, David Felts, Jim Mitchell, B.J. Murray, David Murray and Brian Roach will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Marvin Nipper, Ray and Dennis. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 12:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
