Tony Wayne Worley, 63, passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at Johnston Memorial Hospital.
After graduating from Patrick Henry High School in 1966, Tony served in the United States Air Force. He received a Bachelors degree in business from Steed College in Johnson City and has worked for Hicok, Fern, Brown & Garcia, CPAs for 27 years.
Tony was a member of Brumley Gap United Methodist Church, Captain of Valley Rescue Squad and a member of Clinch Mountain Volunteer Fire Department.
He was preceded in death by his father, Estel Worley.
Survivors include his loving wife of 41 years, Joan Lee Taylor Worley; two daughters, Cyndi Stein and husband, Curt of Abingdon, VA., and Kristi Heath and husband, Adam of Abingdon, VA; his mother, Esther Worley; four grandchildren, Tyler Stein, Connor Stein, Cora Heath and Cassidy Heath; one aunt, Ruth West and husband, Glen of Floyd, VA; and several cousins.
The funeral service for Tony Worley will be held on Monday, July 25, 2011 at 11:00 am at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Pastor Larry Linkous officiating. The burial will follow at Knollkreg Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be members of the Valley Rescue Squad, Clinch Valley Volunteer Fire Department, Randy Parris, Allen Parris, Chris Lee, Don Lee, Matt Gibson, Brad Webb, Mark Baumgardner, and Brandon Duty. Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Hicok, Ruddy Duty, Roger Hearl, and Bill Rush.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm. Sunday, July 24, 2011 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Brumley Gap United Methodist Church, c/o Sue Duty, 21290 Brumley Gap Rd., Abingdon, VA 24210.
