Troy Dot Dishman, age 82, passed away on Friday, September 28, 2012 at Bristol Regional Medical Center. He was an employee of Clinchfield Coal for over 40 years, a member of the UMWA District 28, a member of the Grand Chapter Royal Arch Masons No. 79, Coeburn Masonic Lodge No. 97. He was a precious man who never met a stranger and was loved by all who knew him. He was a member of Landmark Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James Dishman and Mary Horne Dishman; three brothers; and one sister.

He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Bertha Cletis Dishman; two sons, Michael Harmon and very special daughter in law, Carol of Glade Springs, VA and Rick Harmon of Florence, SC; two daughters, Helen Blevins and husband David, and Helen Mutter and a very special son-in-law, Alan of Glade Springs, VA; four brothers, W.A. Dishman of Coeburn, VA, Hugh Dishman and wife Sherry of Salisbury, MA, Carl Younce and wife Helen of Richmond, VA, Freddie Younce of Willis, VA; two sisters, Glenna Baker of Martinsville, VA and Louise Kennedy and husband Hovie of Statesville, NC; brother-in-law, Kenneth Brewster of War, VA; four grandchildren, Laura Funk, Josh Harmon and wife Tiffany, Greg Mutter and wife Natasha, Adam Mutter and fianc�© Jenna Bowers; five great grandchildren, Allyson, Madison, Bradley, Cameron, and Dylan.

A funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m., Monday, October 1, 2012 at Landmark Baptist Church, 34299 Lee Highway, Glade Springs, VA 24340, with Pastor William Hamm officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Monday at the church. Interment will follow at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at Mount Rose Cemetery where Masonic Funeral Rites will be presented by the brethren of Abingdon Masonic Lodge No. 48. Those wishing to attend the committal service are asked to convene at the cemetery by 10:45 a.m., Tuesday.

Pallbearers will be Josh Harmon, Greg Mutter, Adam Mutter, Joe Coleman, Jay Richardson, and Tyler Delp. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Landmark Baptist Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Landmark Baptist Church.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Select Specialty Hospital, Dr. Squires, and Madeline Card of Home Healthcare.
