Troy Wayne Kestner, Sr., age 76, of Abingdon, Va., passed away on Sunday, August 12, 2018, at Grace Healthcare Center. He was born March 15, 1942, to the late Clarence Banner Kestner and Clara Mae Tate Kestner. Troy retired from Bristol Compressors after 27 years of service.
In addition to his parents, Troy was also preceded in death by his brother, Gerald Kestner; and sister, Sharon Kestner.
He is survived by four children: Les Kestner and wife, Carol, of Blountville, Tenn.; Troy Wayne Kestner, Jr. and wife, Sharon, of Abingdon, Va.; Nancy Rowe and husband, Harvey, of Bristol, Va.; and Tony Kestner of Damascus, Va.; six siblings, Freda Boardwine, Carolyn Boardwine, James “Jim” Kestner, Jeff Kestner, Garnett Kestner, and Steve Kestner; seven grandchildren, Jacqueline Kestner, Santana Warren, Michael Rowe, Christopher Rowe, Kenneth Rowe, Sean Kestner, and Alison Kestner; and four great grandchildren, Mason, Emma, Makayla, and Carter Rowe.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, August 15, 2018, at 3:00 p.m. in Knollkreg Memorial Park with Mark Boardwine officiating. Pallbearers will be Jeff Kestner, Jr., Sean Kestner, Mason McGinnis, Chris Rowe, Kenny Rowe, and Mike Rowe. Visitation will be prior to the graveside service Wednesday from 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service.
