Meadowview, VA – Una Dale Pippin Leonard, 91, left us on Friday, November 13, 2015, at Johnston Memorial Hospital. She was born to the late Luther King and Lucy Lee Hearl Pippin. She was a lifelong resident of Washington County, Va., a lifetime member of Wyndale United Methodist Church, and a member of the Eastern Star. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Leonard; daughter, Patsy Ann Foran Jones; five sisters and four brothers. Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn L. Worley Wolfe of Abingdon, Va.; five grandchildren, Rita (Ben) Abel of Abingdon, Va., Billy (Barbara) Worley of Bristol, Tenn., Dawn (Kenny) Crosswhite, Darius Foran and Tim Foran, all of Meadowview, Va.; 15 great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend whose phone calls she looked forward to every night, Linda Talbert. Visitation with the family will be held 1-3 p.m. Sunday, November 15, 2015, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. with Dr. Austin Cook and Rev. David Critcher officiating. A committal service will be held at Mt. View Memorial Park in Bristol, Va. at 3 p.m. Monday with Wayne Morrison, Gerald Pippin, Freddie Lee Burnette, David Pippin, John James, Gary Pippin, and Glen Pippin serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard “Dickie” Jackson, Harold E. Jones, Wayne Burnette, Beatty Leonard, Glen James, and J.W. Leonard. The family would like to extend special thanks to the Damascus Volunteer Rescue Squad and Johnston Memorial Hospital that worked with Una over the years. Your kindness is appreciated.
