Vareda Davis Gaminde

Bristol, TN - Vareda Davis Gaminde, age 90, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 16, 2023, at American House Bristol. She was born on April 19, 1933, in Wythe County, Virginia, the daughter of the late Wilson and Ethel Davis.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Gaminde, and brother, Henry Lee Davis.

Vareda was a resident of Iaeger, W. Va. for twenty-three years and then moved to Bristol, Tennessee in 1978 where she resided until her death.  She was a member of Painter Creek Church of Christ.  Two of her greatest joys were her children and grandchildren. She loved doing for others and serving God in any way possible.

Vareda is survived by her five children: Venita Ann Gaminde, Richard David Gaminde and wife Diana, Timothy Mark Gaminde and wife Debra, Ramona Gaminde Harr and husband Jon, and Jon Andrew Gaminde and wife Stephanie; nine grandchildren, Leslie (Darcy) Gaminde, Joshua (Amanda) Gaminde, Jessica (Ryan) Stiltner, Megan (David) Roh, Austin (Medea) Harr, Allison (Justin) Healton, Evan (Makayla) Harr, Madison Gaminde, and Jonathan Gaminde; nine great-grandchildren, two sisters, Shirley Pennington and Mary Wellman; and brother, Dickie Davis.

A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, July 20, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at the Painter Creek Church of Christ, 24579 Green Spring Road, Abingdon, Virginia. 24211. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens where the grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at the church.

In recognition of her lifetime of dedication and service to the church, donations may be made to Painter Creek Church of Christ in lieu of flowers.
