Virgil Poppy Edward Vandagriff, 72, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at Bristol Regional Medical Center. He was originally from Tenn. but had lived in the Bristol area for the past 37 years. Most people knew him as a dump truck driver, a profession that he had for most of his working life. He was a hard worker and adored his grandchildren.
Virgil is survived by his wife Angela; sons Michael Canter, Pete, Marcus, and P.J. Vandagriff; daughters Ashley Blaylock, Brandy Walker and Tonya Vandagriff; granddaughter and care giver Karigan Blaylock and 17 other grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A Memorial Service will be held for Virgil Edward Vandagriff on Monday, March 28, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. in the Shiloh Freewill Baptist Church, 21503 Benhams Rd, Bristol, Va., with Brother Michael Canter officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. 7:00 p.m. at the church prior to the service. A committal service will be held on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Valley View Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Rt. 700, Abingdon,Va.
