Vivian Yarber

Vivian "Jean" Yarber, 72, passed away Saturday, June 4, 2011 at her home.

She was born October 15, 1938 and was a daughter of the late, David and Edith Foran. Jean had served as a volunteer at Johnston Memorial Hospital for 16 years and was active with Relay for Life, which was so important to her. She was a member of Rosedale Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, W.H. Yarber; brothers, Harold and Houston Foran; sister, Betty Fields; and a brother-in-law, Joe Barrett.

Survivors are her son, Steve Yarber and wife, Karen; grandchildren, Haley and Wesley; brothers, Jack Foran and wife, Barbara, Ray Foran and wife, Nancy and Danny Foran and wife, Bonnie; sister, Ann Barrett; mother-in-law, Katherine Yarber; sisters-in-law, Monnie Wright and husband, Claude, Omagine Brewer and husband, Ray, Sue Warren and husband, Joe, Nancy Chit-Khin and husband, Ronnie and Pat Bise and husband, Tom; special friends, Ryan Gobble, William Denton, Isaac Owens, Meredith Owens; several nieces and nephews and many friends too numerous to mention.

Funeral services for Jean Yarber will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Monday, June 6, 2011 in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Pastor Dr. Don Paxton and Rev. Barbara Farmer officiating. Interment will follow in Rosedale Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at Farris Funeral Service from 2:00 until 2:50 P.M. Monday.



Pallbearers will be Roy Campbell, Ricky Gobble, Sam Tignor, Joe Owens, Mike Taylor and David Johnson. Honorary Pallbearer is Lonnie Crane.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions made to Relay for Life at Rosedale Baptist Church, 26396 Lee Highway, Abingdon, VA 24210, are preferred.
