Walter Halvard George

Walter Halvard George, age 73, passed away on Wednesday August 24, 2022 at the Hospice House in Bristol, TN. Walter was born in Richmond Heights, MO but had lived in the Abingdon area for many years. He was an automobile mechanic and a veteran of the United States Army. He attended Fellowship Chapel. Walt was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed collecting driver memorabilia. He also loved University of Tennessee football. However, his highest love was for his family. They remember his smile, laugh and perpetual good mood.

Walt was predeceased by his parents Eugene Charles George, Sr. and Walnah May Peterson and brother Eugene (Skip) George, Jr.

Survivors include his daughter Stephene Ball (Troy) of Jonesborough, TN; sister Carroll Parsons (Allen) of Plainfield, IN; loving step daughter Tiffany Smith of Bristol, TN; grandsons Matthew, Trevor, Joseph, Jacob (Sunshine), and James (Smiley); great grandsons David, Braydon and Matox; 2 nieces and 5 nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
