Abingdon, VA – Wanda “Mae” Hill Helton, age 74, passed on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, in Bristol Regional Medical Center. Mae was an original Boss Lady and longtime owner of Mae’s Auto Auction on Lee Highway in Abingdon.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dennie T. Hill, Jr. and Oma “June” Dunn Hill, and brother, Buckie Lee Hill.
Mae is survived by three daughters, Tammy Street and husband Richard, Hope Helton-Lynch and husband Bobby, and Sallie Helton Austin; brother, Jimmy T. Hill and wife Susan; grandchildren, Tara Street, Travis Street, TJ Street, Alina Lynch, Piper Lynch, Cody Carter, Blake Austin, and Brayden Austin; and seven great grandchildren.
Cryptside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, December 12, 2021, in the Colonial Chapel Mausoleum of Forest Hills Memory Gardens. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Street, Bobby Lynch, Travis Street, Cody Carter, Blake Austin, Brayden Austin, and Kaleb Sullivan. The family will receive friends after the service in the Shelby Room of the Bristol Hotel.
