Wanda R. Mallory

Wanda R. Mallory, age 65, passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2016, at Wellmont Hospice House. She had lived for a number of years in Georgia, but moved to Abingdon nine years ago. Wanda loved the Lord and expressed her faith until the time that she died. When her health permitted, she attended Covenant Fellowship Church. She lived a very active life. Swimming, crocheting, dancing, playing Nintendo and cooking were her favorite activities. Wanda had her favorite TV shows, which were Walker, Texas Ranger and numerous cooking shows. She was very proud of being able to go back to school to earn her GED.

Wanda was predeceased by her husband, Jimmy Mallory; her parents, Maurice and Jessie Langley; her brother, Bill Langley; and her little dog, Sugar, who passed away one month before Wanda.

Surviving relatives are her daughters, Nancy Worley and husband Mark of Abingdon, Carla McWaters of Thomaston, Ga.; and step daughter, Melanie Mowen and husband Kevin of Kennesaw, Ga.; son, Tony McWaters and wife Lisa of Thomaston, Ga.; sister, Cheryl Richards of California; 10 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and two nieces and two nephews.

A funeral service for Wanda R. Mallory will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 22, 2016, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Rev. Adam Wolf officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. 8:00 p.m. Sunday, February 21, 2016, at the funeral home.
