Whitley "Bo" Henderson, Jr.

Whitley B. “Bo” Henderson, Jr., 87, of Abingdon, Va., went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 30, 2018.  Bo was born in Bluefield, W. Va. on January 17, 1931, to the late Whitley B. Henderson, Sr. and Hallie M. Henderson.  He was a graduate of Welch High School and Concord College of Athens, W. Va.  He was retired from Food Country, USA.

In addition to his parents, Bo was preceded in death by his sister, Phyllis A. Jones.  He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley; son, John B. Henderson of Sioux City, Iowa; and special cousin, Charles W. Henderson and wife, Brenda, of Abingdon, Va.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, 19415 Lee Hwy., Abingdon, VA 24210, with Richard Foil officiating.  Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Forest Hills Chapel prior to the memorial service.  

Members of the Harry Denton Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 246, Abingdon, VA 24212.
