William "Bill" Rush

William Bill Rush, age 69, passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2016, at Bristol Regional Medical Center. He was born September 4, 1946, to the late William Victor Rush and Golda Mae Swift Rush. He was a proud veteran of United States Air Force. Bill worked in the banking industry for many years, sold cars for 35 years, and was a loving husband, father, and grandfather to his two special grandchildren, Madison and William. He was a member of Spring Creek Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Mary Jane Rush; daughter, Amy Rush Duncan and husband Tim of Glade Spring, VA; two grandchildren, Madison Maddie Duncan and William Will Duncan; brother-in-law, Jim (Evelyn) Gregory; niece, Rebecca Becky (Clinton) Long; and great nephew, Luke Barr.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon, VA 24210, with the Rev. Jerry A. Eggers officiating. A committal service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 18th at Forest Hills Memory Gardens where Jim Briscoe, Ken Pope, Randy Pennington, Eddie McConnell, Sam Osborne, Bill Briscoe, Don Minnick, and Frankie Whitaker will serve as honorary pallbearers. Military honors will be provided by the Highlands Veterans Honor Guard and the United States Air Force. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. -7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Forest Hills Chapel prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted.
