Mr. William Daley "Dale" Wilson, 64, passed away Sunday, October 25, 2009 in the Lynchburg General Hospital, Lynchburg, VA.

He was a native of Washington County, VA, had been employed by the Sterling Casket Company and had attended the Pleasant View Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Christine Wilson, his parents, William Lane Wilson and Blanche Widner Wilson, a daughter, Carolyn Ann Wilson, and three brothers, Robert, David and Chester Wilson.

Survivors include his sons, Billy Wilson and wife Janice, Lodi, VA; Ronnie Wilson and wife Crystal, Abingdon, VA; and Davey Wilson, Lodi, VA; his daughter, Cindy Whitt and husband Keith, Crewe, VA; his brothers, Jay Wilson, Wesley Wilson, Gary Wilson and Curtis Wilson all of Meadowview, VA; Larry Wilson, Hickory, NC; his sisters, Edith Barr, Hickory, NC; Wanda Harmon, Newton, NC; Stella Barr, Granite Falls, NC; and Barbara Pierce, Elizabethton, TN; ten grandchildren, two great grandchildren and one great grandchild on the way; numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the Rush Creek Cemetery with Pastor Clyde Gamble officiating. Interment will follow the service. The procession will leave the funeral home at 1:15 Wednesday to go to the graveside service.

Pallbearers will be Freddie Ray, Bill Bailey, Larry Wilson, Jim Ray, Jimmy McCray, Bobby Wilson. Honorary pallbearers will be Cody Wilson, Jacob Wilson and Joseph Whitt, who is serving in Iraq.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the family.
