William Douglas "Doug" Sykes

Bristol, Va. William Douglas Sykes, age 52, passed away on Monday, September 14, 2015, at Wellmont Bristol Regional Medical Center. Doug was a 1981 graduate of Virginia High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science at Emory & Henry College. He was an engineer for Bristol Virginia Utilities and an IT Manager for VDOT for 25 years. Doug was a Mason and a Shriner. He was preceded in death by his father, William Kenneth Sykes. Doug is survived by his daughter, Meghan Nicole Sykes of Bristol, Tn.; mother, Dottie Fanis Sykes of Bristol, Va.; brother, Steve Sykes and wife Stephanie of Bristol, Va.; sisters, Pam Williams and husband Dave of Abingdon, Va., and Lisa Johnson and husband Greg of Bristol, Va.; nieces, Jessica Sykes of Mobile, Al. and Heather Sykes of Bristol, Va.; nephew, Jordon Johnson of Bristol, Va.; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
