William Edward Shortt, 72, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2011 in Wellmont Hospice House in Bristol, TN.
He was born June 2, 1938 in Washington Co. VA and was a son of the late Thomas and Myrtle Wilson Shortt. He was a member of Woodland Baptist Church.
Survivors are his wife, Betty Shortt; daughter, Lisa Dunlop; son, Bill Shortt; grandchildren, Lauren Smith and Evan Dunlop; great grandchild, Miles Smith; four sisters, Una Fay Carbary, Shirley Wilfred, Ann Grubb and Nancy Bailey; two brothers, Claude Shortt and Clifford Shortt and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Monday, May 23, 2011 in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Rev. Bob McCormick and Rev. Bob Steele officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. until 6:45 P.M. Monday at Farris Funeral Service.
Committal services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at Forest Hills Memory Gardens. Honorary Pallbearers are David Bailey, Dale Bailey, Don Davenport, Matthew Blackwell, Tom Scott, T.J. Osborne, Wesley Matheus, Calvin Odum, Joe Tolliver and Lee Roy Salyers.
Those attending the committal service are asked to assemble at the cemetery by 9:50 A.M. Tuesday
