William Eugene Moore

Charlottesville, VA William Eugene Moore, age 70, passed on Monday, December 12, 2015. Gene was born and raised in Washington County, VA to the late James Samuel and Carrie Belle Moore. He attended the Virginia School for the Deaf and Blind and retired from the Virginia Department of the Visually Handicapped. He was a member of Colonial Baptist Church for 25 years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Wanda Moore Odegaard.
He is survived by five brothers, Frank Moore of Abingdon, VA, Harold Moore of Castlewood, VA, Odell Moore of Charlotte, NC, Verlin Moore of Abingdon, VA, and Alan Moore of Lawton, OK; three sisters, Hazel Davis of Ellijay, GA, Genevieve Garrison of Nashville, TN, and Brenda Middleton of Abingdon, VA; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 22, 2015, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Pastor Ed Leake officiating.
The family would like to extend special thanks to his wonderful landlord who looked after him, Sharon Dixon, as well as the congregation of Colonial Baptist Church.
