William Franklin "Bill, Bubba, Billy Bob" Doss, age 53, went to celebrate with his Lord and Savior on Christmas morning, Wednesday, December 25, 2013 at his home after a long illness. Bill was a member of Cedar Bluff Church of Damascus in which he was saddened by not being able to attend due to his illness.
He was a good, giving son and a blessing from God as a husband. Along with his wife, Bill loved to hunt, fish, cut wood, and just spend time together. He enjoyed life, loved aggravating his friends, and loved to laugh.
Mr. Doss is preceded in death by his father, Walter Noah Doss, and brothers, Bobby and Bucky Doss.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Robin Taylor Doss; mother, Louise Doss; two brothers, Carroll Doss and Allen Owens; Godson that he called " that's my boy", Austin Spiva; best friend and special adopted son, Robert Wagner; 14 nieces and nephews; 12 great nieces and nephews; and one great-great nephew.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 29, 2013 at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Pastor Mike Dixon officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery with Austin Spiva, Tommy Thomas, Wayne Hubbert, Cecil Owens, Jackie Taylor, Robert Wagner, J.C. Taylor, Jr., Roger Eller, Dillon Smith, and Mark Hill serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Taylor, Shane Porter, Eugene Owens, Donnie Thomas, and James Owens.
Visitation with the family will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Those who wish to express sympathy online may do so by visiting www.farrisfuneralservice.com and signing the online guest register.
