William Harvey Mullins

William Harvey Mullins age 88, passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at his home in Bristol, VA.

Harvey was born on December 21, 1933, in West Virginia to the late Thomas Mullins, Sr. and Madgieleen Chrsitian Mullins. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by six of his siblings Eugene Mullins, Jess Mullins, Athleen Baker, Estil Mullins, Edgel Mullins, and Vernon Mullins. Harvey was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Harvey was a self-taught businessman owning and operating many businesses in the Swords Creek area to include Mullins Grocery and Mullins Hardware. Harvey and his wife served and helped the community there for numerous years. He was a dedicated Christian and a member and deacon at Shiloh Primitive Baptist Church.

He is survived by loving wife of 66 years Lou “Judy” Mullins; two sons Mark Mullins & wife Sheila and Gary Mullins & future daughter-in-law Tina Easterly; brother Thomas “Tom” Mullins, Jr. & wife Rita; grandson Sean Mullins; great grandson Wyatt Mullins; and several nieces, nephews, and his loving church family

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00PM, on Sunday May 8, 2022, in the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, 19415 Lee Hwy., Abingdon Va. 24210. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM, on Monday, May 9, 2022, at the chapel with Pastor Don Stacey, Pastor Herb Denton, Pastor Terry Thacker, and Pastor Robert Thacker officiating. Interment will follow in the Forest Hills Memory Gardens Cemetery with deacons from Shiloh Primitive Baptist Church serving as pallbearers. Full military honors will be rendered by the Highlands Honor Guard Team, and the VA National Guard Honors Team.
