William Landon Smith

Clintwood, VA William Landon Bill Smith, age 74, passed on Saturday, May 28, 2016, at Heritage Hall Nursing Home. Bill was born and raised at Nashs Ford in Russell County to the late Andrew B. Smith and Wanda Steppe Smith. He was a graduate of Honaker High School and was a Vietnam Veteran having served in the U.S. Army. Bill earned an Agriculture Degree from Virginia Tech and taught Agriculture at Irvington High School and Abingdon High School.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters, Nancy Wilson and Mildred Cookie Smith; and brother, A.B. Smith, Jr.

He is survived by one son, Michael Smith of Coeburn, VA; sister, Helen S. Owens of Lebanon, VA; brother, Robert Smith and wife Gerda of Stamford, Connecticut; sister-in-law, Brenda Smith of Honaker, VA; and several nieces and nephews.
