Abingdon, VA – William Lee “Willie” Whittaker, Jr., age 82, passed on Monday, August 9, 2021, in Johnston Memorial Hospital. Willie retired as a lab tech from the Virginia Dept. of General Services after 38 years of employment.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Shirley Howard Whittaker; daughter, Donna Fields; ten siblings; and daughter-in-law, Loma Kay Whittaker.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Gladys Wolfe Whittaker; son, Darrell Whittaker of Damascus, VA; brother, Kenny (Patsy) Whittaker of Bowling Green, VA; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cryptside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 12, 2021, in the Knollkreg Memorial Park Mausoleum with Pastor David Robins officiating.
