Bristol, VA – William Clifton Ruble, age 80, passed on Monday, November 10, 2014, at Bristol Regional Medical Center. Mr. Ruble was born and raised in Tazewell County, VA to the late Robert Clifton Ruble and Myrtle Irene French. Bill attended McLaines Business College in Bluefield, WV and helped numerous entrepreneurs while working for Commercial Credit. In 1967, he and his wife moved to Bristol, VA and later opened and currently operate Suburban Shoe Center. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Maggie Ruble; two sons, Tim (Susan) Ruble of Bristol, VA and Bryant Clifton (Rebecca) Ruble of Bristol, TN; two daughters, Deborah Elaine (John) Edwards of Bristol, VA and Sharon Lynn (Kerry) Jones of Bristol, TN; grandchildren, John Edwards, Maggie Weatherly, Dr. Robert Jones, and Madalyn Ruble; six great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and close friends. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, November 13, 2014, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Ministers Tommy Johnson and Floyd Bailey officiating. Visitation with the family will be held 5-7 p.m. just prior to the service. A committal service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday at Forest Hills Memory Gardens where Robert Jones, John Edwards, Sr., Kerry Jones, Dony Necessary, John Edwards, Jr., and Matthew Dutton will serve as pallbearers. Those wishing to attend the committal are asked to meet at the cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to East Bristol Church of Christ in Mr. Ruble’s name.
