Willie Mae Houser

Willie Mae Houser, formerly of Abingdon, VA, passed on Monday March 10, 2025, in Mt. Juliet, TN. Willie Mae was born October 21, 1928, in Abingdon, VA to the late David M. Powers and Adell Shortt Powers. She was a seamstress at Harwood Manufacturing for many years and attended Woodland Hills Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Willie Mae was preceded in death by her husband, John Houser, Jr.; son, John Edward Houser; brother, Billy Powers; sister, Elizabeth Meredith.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory are her granddaughter, Lauren Houser Smith and husband Chris; great grandson, Miles Smith; brother Mack Powers, sisters, Margaret Houser and Violet Sue Baldwin and several nieces and nephews.

A private interment will be held at a later date in Forest Hills Memory Gardens.
