Willis Ball

Mr. Willis Ball, age 79, passed away Thursday, December 5, 2013 in Johnston Memorial Hospital after a long illness. He was a retired coal miner and loved farming and hunting when his health permitted. He was of the Christian Faith.

Willis was predeceased by his parents, Preston and Gracie Musick Ball; infant daughters Nancy Irene and Cheryl Lynn; brothers Ballard, Hurley, Jack and James; and sister Dochia.

Mr. Ball is survived by his wife Darlene Crabtree Ball of the home; sons Larry Willis Ball of Cleveland, VA and Darrell Wayne Ball of Abingdon, VA; daughters Amy Braswell and husband Gill of Abingdon, VA; Lillian "Tink" Musick and husband Roger of Cleveland, VA; and Connie Ketron and husband Allen of Blountville, TN; brother Jewell and sisters Pearl, Alice, and Bertha; grandchildren Wendy Boothe, Sally Roark, R.D. Musick, Cody Ball, Julie Ball, Joshua Ball, and Emmaline Ball; and great- grandchildren Payton and Brady Leonard, Chase Welch, Brooke Musick, Katie Musick, Dahlia Ball and Dillon Ball.

A graveside funeral service for Mr. Willis Ball will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Forest Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon, from noon until 2:00 pm on Saturday prior to the service.
