Zita Marie Witte Pojeta

Zita Marie Witte Pojeta, BSN, age 70, a retired O.R. Nurse, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 in the comfort of her home. She received her Nursing Certificate from Maryville College and her BSN from St. Louis University. She was of the Catholic faith.
She was born to the late Steven Witte and Martina Fanning Witte on June 19, 1943 in St. Louis, MO. She was also preceded in death by five siblings.
She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Dr. Thomas Pojeta, PhD, P. E. a retired Engineer; son, Tom Pojeta, Jr. and wife Daniela of Leesburg, VA; daughter, Tina Counts and husband Earl of Abingdon, VA; brother, Leonard Witte and wife Cletis of St. Louis, MO; three sister-in-laws, Halle Witte of St. Louis, MO, Beth Witte of Chicago, IL, and Marilyn Witte of Tucson, AZ; and four beloved grandchildren, Julia and Isabela Pojeta and Carter and Megan Counts.
Visitation will be from 6:00-7:00p.m., Thursday, August 1, 2013 at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. A Vigil Service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home with Reverend Francis Xavier Musolooza officiating. Grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 8710 Mount Vernon Highway, Alexandria, Virginia 22309, with Reverend Thomas P. Ferguson officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sisters of Charity of Seaton Hill, 144 DePaul Center Road, Greensburg, PA 15601.
